🌪️ In the aftermath of Cyclone Chido, Free-the iliad Group and the AXIAN Group have moved into action to support Mayotte. Our teams are working hard to restore the services of Only, the island’s leading mobile operator, while at the same time helping our employees and the people affected by the disaster. 👉 Our overriding priority is to guarantee the safety of our 52 Mahoran employees and their loved ones, while making sure they have access to food and water. To this end, our local teams, based in Reunion Island, Madagascar, the Comoros and Tanzania, are providing them with round-the-clock support. 📡 Out of Only’s 54 base stations, six are already back up and running, providing network coverage to approximately 40% of the population around Mamoudzou and Kaweni. We’re continuing to carry out repairs but are dependent on the electricity supply being restored. 🚛 Some five tonnes of equipment is on the way from mainland France, along with more from Madagascar and Tanzania, and volunteer specialists from our network teams will be joining the teams in Mayotte. 🤝 We’ve made communications (voice/text messages/data) free of charge and unlimited for Only mobile plans in areas where there is service. And Axian Telecom will be proposing low-cost offers for communications to Mayotte. 🧡 We’ve donated €80,000 to the French Red Cross and the Secours Populaire Français. And the Free Foundation has made a €50,000 donation to Télécoms Sans Frontières, which is putting in place emergency communications solutions as of today. We intend to carry on mobilizing our teams to support the people of Mayotte who’ve suffered such devastating damage. We’re by their sides and will continue to do all we can to help.

The 5 Key Principle to build an AI for All ( used by Apple for its Apple Intelligence Strategy): 1) Multimodality - Voice, Text, Image, Video - Users should be able to interact with AI using any type of input format, as humans do in their interactions. 2) From words to actions - AI must be able not only to answer questions but also to actually do actions, such as book a trip, fix a meeting, automatically records all the meetings and transcribe them etc.. 3) Simple, accessible and integrated - Just yesterday I highlighted this topic in a meeting at work. In order for AI to be adopted barriers should be reduced as much as possible. Today we go to ChatGPT, we then copy the text and then paste it in the email. The more AI is fully embedded in UX and UI the more users will adopt it. 4) Proactivity ( The most complex and challenging principle). - Ideally we do not want simply an AI that answers back our questions, but we want an AI that proactively and autonomously does some actions or reminds us to do some activities. And this principle is actually what we unconsciounsly apply to others as well. We do not want to constantly ask to our colleauges: Did you fix the meeting with Paolo? Did you write the email to Luca? Can you write this email for me? We want to work with people we can rely on and people that actually bring added value to our daily life, people that solves problem we did not think about. 5) Customized to customer needs - As we saw for the development of many mass consumption good and service, customization to specific customer needs and behaviors opens thousands of opportunities. From the perspective of a company that provides AI for its goods and services, such as Apple, it is important to actually offer a service that is already tailored to our customer needs. I couldn't help but reflect on how innovation is similar to that first courageous penguin. How many of you have tried presenting Proof of Concept for innovation to business stakeholders, finding yourselves all together on the edge of that metaphorical glacier? Challenges and the fear of the unknown often hold back our momentum and prevent these projects from materializing. But as in the natural world, it often takes just one brave individual to make that first leap. And once that penguin jumps, the others follow, discovering that what seemed impossible can become possible. Let's continue to push beyond our limits, to be that penguin whose leap can change the course of things.
